First of all, the moving industry is highly competitive in central Texas. With people here moving year-round, the market for moving services is higher than in most parts of the country.
With the competition in this space only getting tougher, one of the best ways for a moving company to stand out is through increasing their online presence and digital footprint.
A couple years ago, a local moving company came to us with the primary goal of doing just that.
Here’s a detailed look at the strategies we used and how we increased their inbound calls by 178% in a year:
1. Optimizing the Google Business Profile
A company’s Google Business Profile functions as a snapshot of the brand.
We filled it out with essential information, but didn’t stop there.
We added information about dozens of services, products, photos, and other key info.
Customers were able to find the location easily on Google Maps and make contact with a single click.
We used the profile to promote weekly posts, keeping it active in Google Maps searches, which led to more clicks and higher rankings.
Over 9,100 views came in purely from optimizing the Google Business Profile — a 200% increase compared to the last year.
The increase in engagement came with key statistics that helped support the client’s future marketing strategy, including:
- List of keywords that fueled the most searches
- Percentage of clicks per platform and source
- Increase in views and search from 1 year prior
Optimizing the company’s Google Business Profile led to success in many other areas.
It also created the potential for compounding benefits, including:
- Better search engine rankings as the page gets more attention
- More referrals as more customers are serviced
- Improved brand development
2. Contact Forms and CRM Integration
It’s one thing to increase organic traffic to your website. It’s another thing to convert them into paying customers or clients. Creating a lead management strategy is crucial for converting traffic.
We strategically placed contact forms on the website, encouraging visits to get in touch.
These forms were integrated into the client’s CRM, allowing for seamless tracking and management of leads. This simple CRM made sure no potential paying customers slipped through the cracks.
3. Encouraging Customer Reviews
One of the best ways you can boost your visibility in search rankings is by proving to Google that you’re a trusted and reliable business.
Customers leaving 5-star reviews and positive reviews is the best way to do that.
We set up a process to collect and manage customer reviews, sending surveys out to existing customers and following up with past ones. Even if there were negative reviews, we made sure they were replying to them promptly and addressing the issue.
An often overlooked and underrated aspect of SEO growth is optimizing social media profiles. We revamped their Facebook profile, making it look more professional when someone visits their page.
Along with adding high-value content to their page, we helped them increase their follower count by a few thousand followers, which helped their success across SEO by building more trust and authority.
Compounding Benefits and Future Strategies
Implementing all of these strategies above not only brought immediate results to the moving company, but also set the stage for long-term growth.
After a year of working with us, their inbound calls increased by 178% over the previous year.
